3-Ingredient Marshmallow Fudge

If you’re looking for a sweet treat that tastes like it came from a specialty chocolate shop, this marshmallow fudge is it. It’s rich, creamy, packed with classic chocolate flavor, and loaded with soft marshmallows that make every bite a little more fun.

I love recipes like this because they’re practically foolproof. With just a few simple ingredients and no candy thermometer required, you can whip up a batch in minutes. It’s also one of my favorite kid-friendly recipes. Whether you’re making it for the holiday season a cookie exchange, or just because you’re craving chocolate, the hardest part is not eating it all yourself!

What’s in 3-ingredient marshmallow fudge?

Creamy fudge from minimal ingredients you can find at the grocery store:

Fudge ingredients
  • Chocolate Chips: You can use any kind of chocolate chips in this recipe. I like the flavor of semi-sweet chocolate chips, but milk chocolate or dark chocolate work well too!
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk: You need one can of sweetened condensed milk for this recipe. If you’d like to sub a non-dairy version, you can!
  • Mini Marshmallows: Mini marshmallows work best for this easy chocolate fudge, but you can also use regular sized marshmallows and cut them into little pieces!

Making easy chocolate marshmallow fudge

Melted chocolate
Start by melting your bag of chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Melt the chips by microwaving in 30 second bursts and stirring with a wooden spoon in between. You can stop microwaving when all the chips are melted and the chocolate is silky and glossy. Make sure the chocolate is completely melted or you can end up with crumbly fudge or a grainy texture.
Fudge mixture
Add 1/2 cup of the marshmallows and all of the sweetened condensed milk to the melted chocolate and stir them until well combined.
Fudge in pan ready to set
Line a 9×9 inch pan with parchment paper or wax paper. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and smooth it out. Top it with the remaining marshmallows. It works best if you press them in a little; otherwise, they have a tendency to fall off the top once that creamy fudge sets.
3-Ingredient Marshmallow Fudge
Place the fudge in the fridge for about an hour, or until it’s completely set. You can cut it up into 1-inch squares and top with powdered sugar or a flaky pinch of salt!

FAQs

Do the marshmallows melt completely?

No. The marshmallows soften slightly but remain visible in the finished fudge, giving it a fun texture and classic rocky road-style appearance.

How should I store marshmallow fudge?

Store the fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Why is my fudge too soft?

Soft fudge is usually caused by not allowing it enough time to chill. Be sure to refrigerate it until fully set before cutting. Warm kitchens can also make fudge softer.

Can I use evaporated milk instead of sweetened condensed milk?

No. Sweetened condensed milk is thicker and sweeter than evaporated milk. You need this to get the fudge to set up right.
