What’s in 2-Ingredient Pork Chops?
With only two ingredients, this recipe feels a little like magic! This section gives you some ingredient notes, including what kind of pork chops you want, and what substitutions you can make.
- Boneless Pork Chops: Can’t have pork chops without the pork chops themselves! I prefer boneless chops for this recipe. They cook more uniformly, and I don’t love working with bones. That said, you can use bone-in pork chops if you prefer them. You can also use frozen or thick-cut pork chops; they just might need a little longer on the cooking time.
- Cream of Mushroom Soup: You will need 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup. As it cooks, the soup will mingle with the pork chops to create an absolutely delicious mushroom gravy. You can also sub this for any cream soup, or combination of cream soup (one can mushroom and one can cream of chicken, for instance).
Making 2-Ingredient Crockpot Pork Chops
Step 1 | Dump and Go
Start by placing your pork chops in the bottom of the crockpot. Cover them with the soup, then put the lid on the crockpot.
The chops need to cook on low for 5-6 hours, or on high for 3-4 hours. If you’re cooking on high, make sure to stir your gravy a few times to keep it from burning on the sides.
To check if your pork chops are completely cooked, use an instant-read thermometer. You’re looking for an internal temperature of at least 145°. If you have thick pork chops, you may need to add to the cooking time.
Step 2 | Enjoy!
Once your chops are cooked, you can eat them immediately! Serve the tender pork chops with side dishes like mashed potatoes or egg noodles topped with the crockpot gravy, or a veggie, like green beans or side salad, and you’ve got a complete delicious meal. You can even garnish this with some fresh herbs, like fresh thyme or basil.
Variations
While this base recipe tastes incredible on its own, you can make some adjustments to change the flavor, There’s nothing wrong with keeping things fresh and new!
- Add Worcestershire sauce: A splash of Worcestershire sauce adds umami flavor and a lovely warmth to the gravy.
- Add chicken broth: Sub 1 cup of chicken broth for the second can of cream soup.
- Add ranch flavor: A packet of ranch dressing mix gives this gravy and chops recipe a distinctly home-on-the-range flavor!
- Switch up the cream soup: You can sub any cream soup for one or both of the cans of cream of mushroom soup. Try cream of celery, cream of chicken, cream of broccoli, or cream of potato.
- Add onion soup mix: Sub one can of cream soup with a packet of onion soup mix and a can of water. This creates a mushroom onion gravy that tastes like it came from a restaurant!
