This 3-ingredient peach cobbler is as easy as it gets—just layer the ingredients in a baking dish, then bake until golden and bubbly. No mixing, no fuss, just a delightful dessert with minimal effort.

It’s the perfect summer dessert for potlucks, picnics, or lazy weekends with the whole family. Serve it warm with a scoop of ice cream, and watch it disappear in no time!

What’s in 3-ingredient peach cobbler?

While this easy dessert is long on taste, the ingredient list is short and sweet!

Peach cobbler ingredients
  • Peach Pie Filling: You can also use fresh peaches or canned sliced peaches (in light syrup or heavy syrup) to make this. I prefer peach pie filling because it adds so much flavor!
  • Yellow Cake Mix: You will need one box of yellow cake mix. Yellow cake compliments the peaches perfectly, but you can also use other types of cake mix if you’d like. White cake mix or vanilla cake mix are both excellent.
  • Butter: The thing that brings this all together is a little bit of melted butter. You can sub margarine for the butter in a 1:1 ratio.

Making easy peach cobbler

Step 1 | Layer

Start by spreading your peach pie filling out on the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish. You don’t need to line or grease the baking dish at all!

Next, shake the entire box of cake mix over the top of the peaches. Try to spread it out evenly.

Finally, pour the melted butter over the dry cake mix. Don’t worry about having any dry bits — the butter will spread through the unmixed bits of the cake mixture while it bakes!

Step 2 | Bake

Bake your cobbler fro 45-50 minutes at 350°. The cobbler is done when the cake topping is golden brown especially at the edges of the cobbler, and the finished cobbler springs back to the touch.

Step 3 | Enjoy!

Homemade peach cobbler tastes best warm. I love to serve it with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream (if you want to make homemade vanilla ice cream, check out this recipe!). Whipped cream, and even heavy cream are also delicious on top. Feel free to add a sprinkle of cinnamon to really make it gourmet.

FAQs

How should I store leftovers?

Let the cobbler cool completely, then cover and store it in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days. You can reheat portions in the microwave or warm it in the oven at 300°F until heated through.

Is it okay to double the recipe?

Definitely! Just use a larger casserole dish (like a 10x15inch pan) and make sure the cake mix and butter are spread evenly. It may take a few extra minutes to bake, so keep an eye on the top for that golden-brown finish.

Can I use canned peaches instead of peach pie filling?

You sure can! Using 15 oz cans of peaches (or one large can of peaches (28 oz)) will give you enough for the peach layer if using canned peaches. For fresh fruit, you’ll need about 5 peaches. Keep in mind that peach pie filling has added flavor and a slightly different texture than canned peaches. You can consider adding one cup sugar and 2 tablespoons cornstarch to mimic the flavor and texture.
