3-Ingredient Ravioli Lasagna

Easy meals don’t get easier than this! This lazy lasagna recipe is perfect for busy nights when you want to eat well but you don’t want to to spend hours in the kitchen. You need about 5 minutes of prep time, and then you can let your 3-ingredient lasagna bake while you get stuff done.

Another thing I love about this recipe is that it’s delicious the next day. If you don’t have a large family, you can prep this, then enjoy it all week — it tastes great even straight from the microwave!

What’s in 3-ingredient ravioli lasagna?

This recipe is made from 3 simple ingredients you can find in any grocery store:

Ingredients
  • Frozen Cheese Ravioli: Instead of boiling and layering traditional lasagna noodles, you can just use premade frozen cheese ravioli. You can also use frozen beef ravioli, mushroom ravioli, or spinach ravioli if you’d like a different flavor!
  • Jarred Pasta Sauce: You’ll need one 24 oz jar of pasta sauce for this recipe. You can also make your favorite homemade pasta sauce using tomato sauce and italian seasoning, if you’d like.
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese: You’ll need about 2 cups of mozzarella cheese for this recipe. You can also use Italian blend cheese.

Making lazy ravioli lasagna

Step 1 | Layer

Start with a 9×13 baking dish or a standard size casserole dish. Pour just a little of the pasta sauce into the bottom and spread it around until it covers the bottom of the baking pan in a thin layer. This will keep your raviolis from sticking!

Then, place 1/3 of the raviolis in a single layer on the bottom of the pan. Cover them with 1/3 of the pasta sauce and 1/3 of the cheese.

Layer 1

Make a second layer of ravioli on top of the first layer. Cover that layer with 1/3 of the pasta sauce and 1/3 of the cheese.

Then, make a final layer of ravioli. Cover that with the remainder of the pasta sauce, then top with the remainder of the cheese.

Step 2 | Cover and Bake

Once you’ve layered your casserole, cover it tightly with aluminum foil, then bake it for 30 minutes at 400°.

Remove the casserole from the oven, and take off the foil. Cook the lasagna for 15 minutes more, uncovered, in order to get that gorgeously golden brown cheese. It’s my favorite part of lasagna!

Step 3 | Enjoy!

Let your ravioli bake rest for 10 minutes or so to set up, then cut it and serve! I like to top mine with fresh herbs like fresh basil or parsley. We serve it with garlic bread and a bagged caesar salad to make a minimum effort gourmet meal!

Additions

You can throw in a few common ingredients to kick things up a notch:

  • Add meat: You can either use beef ravioli or a simple meat sauce, or you can brown 1 lb of ground beef or italian sausage and add it to the pasta sauce.
  • Add veggies: Add chopped zucchini, wilted spinach, or even chopped olives to your sauce for a delicious meal!
  • Mix up the cheeses: Add grated parmesan cheese to the cheese layers, or sub the mozzarella for an Italian blend cheese!
