What’s in this 3-ingredient pizza dough recipe?

This recipe uses Weight Watchers 2 ingredient dough as the base, then adds a secret ingredient to up the flavor!

Pizza Dough Ingredients
  • Self-Rising Flour:Self rising flour combines all purpose flour with salt and the leavening agent:  baking soda and baking powder. You can buy this at most grocery stores, or make your own using King Arthur Flour’s recipe
  • Greek Yogurt:Plain greek yogurt works best for this recipe. You can use either full-fat or nonfat. You can use regular plain yogurt, but you will need to experiement to figure out how much to use without making the dough sticky.
  • Minced Garlic: This adds so much flavor to the somewhat bland base dough. You can either leave this out, or sub it for 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder if you don’t have fresh or jarred minced garlic.

Making easy homemade pizza dough

Step 1 | Mix

In a large mixing bowl, use a wooden spoon to mix the garlic, greek yogurt, and self-rising flour. You will get a shaggy dough like in the photo below.

Step 2 | Knead

Turn your shaggy dough out onto a floured surface. Knead until the dough becomes elasticy, adding flour to the work surface as necessary. This takes about 5 minutes.

Step 3 | Rest

Place the dough ball back into the mixing bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rest on the counter for about 10 minutes. This will relax the dough, which will let you roll it out to the perfect thickness! If you’re in a hurry, you can skip this step, but you might give yourself a workout while you roll the dough!

Step 4 | Roll

Once your dough has rested, grab your rolling pin and roll your dough.

Many people complain that this dough comes out like a biscuit with toppings, and not like pizza dough at all. This is where you fix that. This dough needs to be rolled thin. I mean thin. Like really thin. Super extra thin. It rises in the oven, so you will still end up with a normal pizza crust, but if you roll it out normally, it will be very thick and, well, biscuity.

I roll mine to about a 1/4″ thickness.

Roll pizza dough

Once you’re at this step, you can add your favorite pizza sauce, cheese, and favorite pizza toppings to make the pizza of your dreams!

Step 5 | Bake

Place your pizza dough on a piece of parchment paper, then on a pizza stone, in a pizza oven (I love using an outdoor pizza oven!), or on a prepared baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes at 400°. Your crust will be golden brown.

  • Garlic Knots: Make breadsticks, but before baking, tie the strips into knots.
  • Monkey Bread: Roll dough into 1″ balls. Dip the balls in melted butter, then roll them in cinnamon sugar. Place them in an pie pan, then bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes. Drizzle with powdered sugar glaze!
